Access to toilets at break

Some P7 parents have commented that the children do not appear to be allowed access to the toilet at break. The pupils are encouraged to go at the start or end of break and then the doors to the outside are locked. If pupils need the toilet when outside they should speak with a playground supervisor, who will send the pupil round to the disabled toilet at the front of the school. The reason for this is that there is a history of vandalism to the toilets at school. Even though there will be a tiny minority of children doing this it’s a difficult problem to police. Allowing the children access to only one toilet makes this easier.
