On Tuesday p5RB went to Dunbar to see John Muir’s Birthplace and it was good fun for all the class. We got to see a statue of John Muir dressed up in a suit. There were different activities in the the birthplace, you got put into groups of 3′s. Up the stairs you learned about John’s life. On the second floor there was a window to the house next door where he and his sisters lived and played schoochers on top of the roof. On the bottom floor there was a chair that made a gun noise and a bit about his family. There was also more about John at school when he was getting the belt at school and from his mother and father . Some people got set a challenge to find out a bit about Johns life. I had to find out how old he was when he went to America. I found out he was 10 years old, he had his 11th birthday on the boat.

You could only use pencil, paint ,charcoal or crayons and it could only be in black and white. You got a panel for your drawing and you got a border for the date and what he was did.It was decorated with nature and little details of John Muir’s life.
