You may have noticed that the police have been patrolling Victoria Road and Meadowpark at key times in an effort to support the school in promoting a more responsible attitude amongst drivers (parents / carers) who still insist on dropping off and picking up children in these areas.
Please show consideration to all the children and park your car well away from the school.
I think Meadowpark and Victoria Road should be shut off at certain times of the day, restricting access to residents only. What is really really annoying is drivers REVERSING up Victoria Road as the school comes out. Does a child have to be seriously injured before these drivers consider what they are doing?
I agree. What we need is plenty more feedback like yours from other parents and carers so that: we can influence the ‘culprits’ and positively influence their behaviour; show ELC the strength of feeling so that additional measures can be considered.
Absolutely agree with this. Attempts have been made to influence parents on this for years – with no success. I really don’t think parents are going to stop coming down Victoria Road without some physical barrier, and possibly not even then!
