On Wednesday, Calum from Cool Creatures visited our classrooms as part of our fantastic Rainforest topic. He showed us a really interesting powerpoint with interesting facts and photographs from a trip he’d made to the Amazon Rainforest. He brought some friends along with him: a Boa Contrictor, a tortoise, some African land snails (they were huge!) and a scorpion. We were allowed to touch and hold these animals while Calum told us a bit about them, where they live and what they eat (not us, thankfully!).
In maths, we are learning about money. We’ve been working with money to but items and get change, decide the best way to pay for things, work out the least number of coins to reach an amount, and adding and subtracting coins. We’ve been playing some money-based games and buying items in our classroom shop. We feel we can now easily work out the best ways to spend our pocket money!
Next week is a really busy week for the whole school as it’s ECO/Health week. We have got tons planned including using our new road safety equipment, doing Land Art and having a visit from the Kinetic Theatre Group, together with planting seeds to hopefully seeing some plants grow.

How brave of the kids getting so close to that huge snake!!
