Primary 5 have been investigating the structures and features of Haikus in reading. In writing, they created their own original Haikus about animals and displayed them in an animal cut out. Each Haiku is 3 lines long and has a syllable pattern of 5,7,5.

10/02/10 In reading workshops we learned about Haikus. Haikus are Japanese poems (sometimes riddles) traditionly about the seasons. They have 5 syllables on the first line, 7 on the second and 5 on the last. exp. Cute fluffy creature, Eating eucyliptus leaves, Nice and very warm. Rhona & Lee
