East Linton Playgroup

I am currently registered with The Nursing and Midwifery Council but will register with The Scottish Social Services Council once my NMC registration expires in January.

I have completed courses in Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling and Advanced Child Protection this year and aim to study Child Development in more detail next year.  I plan to attend relevant training throughout my career to maintain and enhance my own professional development.

We implement the Scottish Government’s ‘Pre-Birth to Three: Positive Outcomes for Scotland’s Children and Families’ national guidance, when planning and evaluating your child’s play and development.  This is based on four key features: building relationships with your child and you; being responsive to your child’s care needs; respecting your child and his/her family culture and the rights of the child.  We also follow East Lothian Council’s ‘Zero to Hero’ Guidelines.  Copies of these are available at playgroup for you to read.

I understand the importance of play in a child’s development and believe that Playgroup encourages independent and structural play applicable to each child’s needs.  It provides a happy, stimulating and safe environment where children can learn, explore, interact with thers and have fun!
