Science week continues ….

Another busy day at East Linton with lots of exciting science activities going on.  P3/4 were learning about non Newtonian fluids by playing with some cornflower and water and discovering when you apply force the fluid behaves like a solid WOW!!!! Then P3/4 made some fabulous PVA putty which can bounce and stretch.  P7 were learning about the layers of the earth with the help of some tasty ingredients.  Cinnamon drops for the core, marshmallows for the mantle and chocolate sauce for the crust – edible earth yummy!!  P7 then spent some time outside firing rockets.  We had great fun with the juice bottle rockets which hit great heights and soaked us  and then we had some smaller film canister rockets.  P4/5 were learning about the light spectrum with some new resources – diffraction rainbow glasses.  The children were amazed when looking at different light sources around the school.  P4/5 also spent time outside using UV beads to discover that there are UV rays around outside even when it is cloudy. Another busy day of fun and learning through science at East Linton.
