P1/2 Visitor

A lady called Hazel from Scripture Union came to talk to us about Fairtrade.  Hazel had brought us lots of things to try on, see and touch.  We  saw photos of a school in Africa. They had no pictures on the wall, no desks, no drawing equipment.  The headteachers  office looked very different from Mrs Warehams.  Cameron and Abby played a game, they had to scoop rice.  It was very unfair, Cameron had a big spoon and Abby had a little spoon.  We know what the fairtrade logo looks like.

P4 Scottish Assembly

P4 performed their Scottish Assembly today for the whole school. They told the story of St Andrew and the Saltire through drama and recited the Scottish poems they had been learning. Everyone took part and did a fantastic job. We had an after show party to celebrate our success. Well done P4.

P4 outdoors!

P4 have been given some new outdoor games so we took some time this afternoon to try them out. We had great fun learning outdoors on such a beautiful day. We then spent some time with the children from the afternoon nursery helping them on the trim trail.

P5 Functional Writing

Primary five have used the experiment they carried out yesterday to do some functional writing.  They used photos that they took to illustrate detailed instructions on how to carry out the task.  I would be very happy to follow their instructions to carry out the experiment.  Well done P5!

P5 Science

Primary five have been working out how to separate the salt from a solution of salt, sand and water by using filtration and evaporation.  They will check their filtered water in a few days to see if the results they thought would happen actually do.  They hope to see salt left behind in the container.
