P3 at the fire station
[rockyou157722229]
As part of our studies of East Linton, we visited the fire station. We became firefighters and used the hoses, sat in the engine and wore breathing apparatus.
Thanks Murray and your crew.
Julia Donaldson
The morning nursery along with Pr.1/2/3/4 got to see a live broadcast from Glasgow of a famous author called Julia Donaldson. She read The Ladybird Who Heard Everything. We got to take part by making the sounds of the animals.
The best bit was when the Grufalo came on and we sang a song about his fangs, knobbly knees and purple prickles.
We then read the story when we got back to nursery.
Netball Winners
Congratulations to the P7 girls netball team who managed to win the tournament today and come home with a trophy. It was a close tournament and we made the final on goal difference. We just manged to win 2-1 against Sandersons Wynd.
Well done girls! You looked lovely in your netball skirts- we know you like them really!
Special thanks to Miss Fleming (now in Wimbledon) who coached the girls last year. She will be very proud of you.
Sporting success at Meadowbank

yesterday our athletics team attended the inter schools competion at Meadowbank Everyone made a brilliant effort and managed to come 2nd equal with Yester. A special mention must be made of the tug of war team who came 1st through great grit and determination. What have you been feeding them on !
Delphi ran a brilliant tactical race and came first in the 600 m and Victoria also came 1st in the 80m sprint. Well done team!
P6 represent school at knex challenge
The 2 P6 boys who won the class competition attended the cluster final at Sandersons Wynd Primary School to compete for a place in the national competition. The boys designed a windmill with gearing inside. Although they persevered and worked really hard we were pit at the post. They were a credit to the school. Fantastic Effort!
Primary two Egyptian Assembly
Primary 2 enjoyed sharing their knowledge about the ancient Egyptians. They were most excitied about the gory bits and were glad to share this with school.
Transition Mural

On Wednesday the nursery and Primary 6 unveiled our mural. We worked with Laura Young and the P.6′s to create a wonderful masterpiece. Laura came into Nursery and helped us decide what pictures we would like to see on it.
She then enlarged our drawings onto a big board, we picked what colour of paint we liked for each drawing.
A big thank you to Laura, P.6 and Performing Arts for making this possible.
Springtime / sparrows
We have been learning about baby animals, chicks, flowers and the season Spring. We have been watching our baby sparrow growing this week they have been very noisy and are starting to move around the nest. We can’t wait to see them fly the nest.
We have been learning about baby lambs and we have made our own model lambs with clay, the clay was yucky

.We painted them white and black.
Cherry Blossom
Liz Dorrian has planted our new cherry blossom tree in the Nursery garden. This was donated by Sam Anderson’s mum and dad, thank you.
We have been looking at how the tree grows and that it needs water, soil and sun to be healthy. The blossoms on the tree are a beautiful pink colour.
