Go Green for Schools

Asda and schools are trying to reduce the number of new carrier bags being used in supermarkets. We would like you to get involved. When you are shopping in Asda, you will be given a Go Green voucher every time you reuse your old bags or buy a Bag for Life. Please send these vouchers to school and we can exchange them for resources to help develop greener thinking.

P3 Survey Results

dscf0575.JPGWe looked at all the answers we had from our survey. Here are the graphs we made on the computer.

Most people would like more parking spaces, dog mess cleaned up, more flowers and the railway station to be reopened.
Let us know what you think.

Sustrans Grant for new playground shelters

shop_1139_07.jpgJust before February half term we applied for a grant from Sustrans so that we could put two shelters in our playground.  We are hoping that it will encourage more children to walk or cycle to school because there will be somewhere to shelter when they arrive in bad weather.  Children in P4 and P5 wrote some very persuasive letters and they must have been  effective because Sustrans decided to give us £2,500 towards our shelters.  A company called Timberline is putting up the shelters and we are hoping that they will be ready for next term.  Our Parent Council has also given some money towards the shelters.

P2 visit to Dunbar Police and Lifeboat Station

 [rockyou 104877953]

Here are the photos of today’s P2 visit.  There are lots so keep watching!

A BIG thank you PC Kevin Hughes, lifeboat mechanic Kenny Peters  and lifeboat crew man Kevin Keillort.  Also thank you to Ben and Beth’s mum Donna for helping out.

Our favourite bit was when Kevin did a roll into the water.  Unfortunately, I think it was the only thing I didn’t catch on camera!

Enjoy!
