On Friday morning during school the children will be attending a Jubilee Picnic. If you could send in a small drink and snack on Friday morning. Weather permitting we will assemble as a whole school at Hallhill and eat our picnic.
Please could your child come to school dressed in red, white and blue.
Primary 2 shared their learning about Minibeasts with both children and parents on Friday.
P2c visited Butterfly World and went pond dipping at Inveresk yesterday. We discovered lots of minibeasts living in the pond and learned about food chains. In the afternoon we went to Butterfly World.
Ms Lewis discovered a new visitor when she arrived at school this morning. One of our butterflies had hatched! We put some grass and flowers into our observation tank with a little sugar and water. After observing them throughout the day we decided to let them out into the school garden at home time. The butterflies look like they were enjoying the sunshine and flowers.
Primary 2 will be visiting butterfly world next week. Please remember to wear a waterproof jacket and sensible shoes. Bring a packed lunch with you and keep your fingers crossed for nice weather!
P2A and P2D are going on Monday 21st May

It has been a busy time in p2c over the last few weeks with many visitors!
Despite the weather we’ve been out in the rain looking for minibeasts with Mr Anderson.
We’ve examined snails, worms, tadpoles and caterpillars in our observation tanks. You can see below how some of our minibeasts are growing.
Well done to everyone in P2D who brought in their information about caterpillars and butterflies! Lots of people have been working very hard and produced some lovely things for the minibeast assembly. Please bring your work in by Friday if you would like the chance to share it with the class.
