Senior Trip – Lake District and Yorkshire Dales
Higher and Int 2 students recently went on a trip to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The group stayed at the High Borrans Outdoor Activity centre (http://www.highborrans.org.uk/). The purpose of this trip was to extend their knowledge of The Lithosphere and Rural Land Resources – a large part of the course. This was achieved through adventurous outdoor pursuits. Activities include Caving, which allowed students to gain first hand experience of Limestone features. A 4 hour hike into the glaciated upland area showed features up close giving them a real sense of size and scale. Night activities included the group being split into teams who were put through various challenges.
