It was lovely to see so many children back in school this morning.  Unfortunately, it was not lovely to see more snow again. Deans Primary School, as with other schools in West Lothian will be closed again tomorrow (Tuesday 7th December) because of the severe winter weather. The whole school have worked very hard on maths in a context using the fairground theme. On Thursday, the hall was transformed into a Fairground and parents came along to see how the children have enjoyed their learning. Later – some photos will be added.

The school will finish on Thursday 1st April at 3:15pm for the Easter break. Everyone returns to school on Monday 19th April.

There are 4 Houses in Deans Primary School.  Children are allocated to a school house and can earn house points throughout the year. The house names are based on the local area names Almond Barracks Glenburn Lochshot

We now break for the summer holidays.  Hope everyone has a good time.  See you back in August!

Our recorder group meets every Wednesday at lunchtime. There are 7 of us and we are all in P5. We all started to learn in September, 2008. We had not played recorder before. We have now learned some of the notes for the recorder. We play rhythm games and learn to play tunes. We have [...]

 Primary One pupils are getting active with language. Everyday they have an active literacy session which includes working in pairs to help each other with their learning.

Primary 3/2 were researching into communications years ago as part of the Granny’s Day topic.  They realised that in the olden days there were no mobile phones.  The class decided to make a phone box for Granny Lily.

As part of book week, all classes took part in a door design competition.   Pupils had to transform their classroom door into a book cover.  It was interesting to see the doors being changed into book covers during the week.  Pupils had fun looking at the classroom doors and guessing which book the class inside [...]
