Book Week

We’re delighted to report that every child in the school received a book as part of the National Book Week event. We hope that they enjoy their books and are encouraged to read more often for pleasure.  

P4 Visitor

Writing Showcase

The writing showcase on Tuesday was a great success.   There were samples of children’s work from all classes on display.  The author in the cafe was very popular, and parents were also involved in writing a collaborative showcase story. Writing Showcase

Fairy Visits Deans

On World Book Day, a pink fairy appeared in our school.  She said that she had lost her wand and the children were writing about how they could help her. The photos below are a few examples of some of the ideas.

P7 Meet Jacqueline Wilson

P4 Story Share

Today, three girls in P4 shared their stories with the rest of the school.  The were reading their own work and this was broadcast on our secure schools Glow intranet.  The children in other classes were able to link into their broadcast and do have some photos of their stories for you to look at.

Book Week

It is book week in school next week.  From Monday 8th November to Friday 12th November there will be a variety of book related activities going on throughout school including the readathon. Please check the blog again to see what classes have been up to.

Young Writer Winner

Congratulations to Callum in P6 for winning one of the top prizes in West Lothian’s Young Writer of the Year competition.  He will now attend a prize winning ceremony at Howden Park Centre with his parents and teacher.
