Ahhh - but I'm not in such a prominent position to influence the direction of education. While I do my little bit it is enlightening to see what those with more influence are thinking.

Hi Dave, I'm interested in this we are doing the same thing in the MGS Cluster? Perhaps there might be an opportunity to share ideas here? Did you have secondary and Early Years representation at your meeting or was it just primary?

I've just dropped in and am catching up. I must say I prefer reading the children's own, unedited writing rather than the posts that have clearly been tidied up by the class teacher first, and then published under the child's name. For what it's worth!

This would be an ideal way to encourage schools / pupils to purchase educationally sound software to use for children's education. As we discussed at Edubuzz meeting making teachers responsible for their own laptops but freeing them from the authority "build" might also help in accessing newer and more innovative software.

Wouldn't it be great if East Lothian as a council invested in an authority licence or even offered so many users per school as a subsidy.
With software moving towards online purchase per pupil. I think this maybe the first of many great pieces of software most schools will be unable to afford due to the costs - I feel a blog post coming...
