We have had 6 chickens hatch successfully but, unfortunately, 1 was ill and has died. 2 of the chicks have now moved to the brooder- a heated box- and are starting to scrape and search for food. The remaining 3 will move from the incubator at lunchtime. We have our fingers crossed that another 1 or 2 eggs will hatch today.

The children are absolutely loving having the chicks in school . had the privelege of holding them today to show some of the children, their faces just lit up great to see . the chicks feel so fragile in your hands . Been great for everyone to see and the teachers are just as excited
Think we have all learnt something from it …
I was privileged enough to see the chicks yesterday. They’re absolutely gorgeous. Well done everyone for getting them this far. What a great experience for ALL the children and I hope the staff ~ who’ve now become parents!! ~ are getting enough sleep. Have a RESTFUL week-end with them all Mrs. Gordon
