Campie Parent Council

Welcome to the pages of the Campie Parent Council

These pages are currently under construction

  •  Every parent is a member of the Parent Forum –

The membership of the Campie Parent Forum is made up of all parents/carers at Campie School.    Being a member of the Parent Forum allows you to have a say in the local arrangements at Campie to enable your collective view to be represented on matters such as the quality and standards of education at the school and other matters of interest.   One of the ways you will be able to express your views will be through the “Parent Council”

  • Campie Parent Council

The Campie Parent Council is a group of parents selected by members of the Campie Parent Forum to represent all the parents of children at Campie school.     The type of things Campie Parent Council are involved in include: supporting the work of the school, gathering and representing parents’ views to the Head Teacher and/or Education Authority, promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils and the local community, involvement in the appointment of senior school staff, and fundraising for the School and deciding how funds are spent.

The Parent Council has the right to information and advice on matters  which affect children’s education.   So, the school and the local authority must listen to what the Parent Council says and give it a proper response.

    Hello

Could you tell me the date and time of the next parents council meeting.

Also, is this the only place that information is shared about the meetings? I have been having a look at a few other schools websites in E Lothian and the information provided by the Parents Council (Sandersons wynd and Prestonpans) and they appear to have much more open, user friendly and engaging formats.

I look forward to hearing from you

    Regards

    Melanie

    Hi Melanie,
We decided a few years ago to be incorporated into the main blog and therefore these pages are a bit redundant. We do need to put details of meetings up on a regular basis and I think the website has become a bit neglected.
We are starting a new communications group to look into how we speak to the parent community and anyone is welcome to join.
I will post something on the website.
Thanks for your feedback and we are looking into making things better.
    Gaynor
