“Nothing”, a story by Carla
The little thing, known as ‘Nothing’ sat up and stretched its legs. It then tried to stand up but it had forgotten how to. ‘Nothing’ tried several times but, failed to succeed. He began to cry
” Oh why, oh why can I not get up?’ his voice was drowned with sorrow.
Then, suddenly, the front door opened and people were running up the stairs like a herd of elephants. They started to talk, then one of them opened the attic door.
The human made the floor creak. The human stopped, and looked around the room. She spotted ‘Nothing’. She picked ‘Nothing’ up and took him to her room.
“Ahh, the light in my eyes, it hurts.” ‘Nothing’ thought.
The girl laid ‘Nothing’ on her bed. She looked at him. ‘Nothing’ looked at her. She wasn’t young, she looked like she was ten or eleven years old. Her room wasn’t pink or purple like ‘Nothing’s’ last owner, it was blue with suns on the wall with rainbows surrounding.
The girl bent over and looked at him, then she spoke. ” Hello, I know you’re just a teddy bear but I’ll look after you.”
“So I’m a teddy bear…”
“My name is Kelly, I’ll call you….Paddy!”
A woman came up stairs and then Kelly went down stairs.
“So my name is Paddy not teddy” Teddy, now known as Paddy said and began to smile.
Kelly and the woman left the house so Paddy went to explore her room. Paddy shuffled off the bed. When he hit the ground his legs did not fall, so he walked across the room.
The door opened. Paddy scrambled up to try and get on the bed.
