Benmore, Day 2- Tuesday 22nd May.

Our second day saw the sun shining for most of the day. Miss Stuart’s group went kayaking on Loch Eck this morning, complete with wetsuits and all had great fun. At lunch time they came back looking is if they were frozen, but they were all enthusing about the experience! In the afternoon, they headed off to climb and abseil. This was another successful trip, though they did have to take cover from an army of midges!

Meanwhile, Mr Purves’ group went off to the forest this morning for a jungle bash! We all got lost (according to Angela, our guide) but we still managed to finally find our meeting point to get the bus back to the centre. Sian thought we had walked 10 miles at least- it was probably slightly shorter than this… Our afternoon saw us heading off to Loch Eck, where we all got soaked while kayaking. Most of the group headed off for warming showers when we got back to the Centre.

Jack D:- The kayaking was great- I capsized three times!

Thomas :- Kayaking was fun and it was very wet.

Callum :- I liked the kayaking because it was fun.

David :- I went kayaking and I had a great time, but I was frozen stiff at the end!

Connor :- We went climbing on the rocks and then climbed on the indoor wall because there were too many midges. It was fun.

Jack T:- Abseiling was fantastic because it was almost like flying- but you didn’t hurt yourself. The food here is much better than everything at home!!!

Ailish :- The loch was freezing cold!

Jordanne :- It was great fun and everyone got wet when we went kayaking.

Carla :- Canoeing was really good fun, even though I lost my waterproof trousers in the loch!

Olivia :- Abseiling was really different to the other things we have done so far- but excellent.

Eilidh : The kayaking was fun. I fell in and it was really cold!

Rosie :- I enjoyed the kayaking- and I didn’t fall in.

Joy:- It was a fantastic day, we got muddy in the morning, wet in the afternoon, desperate for shower.

Robin: Capsizing in the kayaks was brilliant.

Erin: Kayaking was hard, but fun. The climbing was amazing.

Sian: It was fantastic at kayaking, even though I got really cold.

Corrie: Today I got really frustrated because I fell in the loch, but it was great fun.

Flora: I was really happy I did the abseiling!

Sam: The kayaking was great, but everyone got soaked and we all needed a hot shower. The food is fantastic.

Lucy:- Everyone got really wet and cold when we went kayaking. It was really good fun.

Hopefully, we’ll get some pictures on later this evening, after the evening activity. (Perhaps around 10pm or so…)

    Hey Rosie,
Life’s pretty quiet without you here, Robbie’s got no-one to fight with and she’s really enjoying your room (apart from the Doctor Who posters) But seriously, we miss you loads and look forward to hearing more about your adventures. Take care of yourself, see you in four or five years.

    Hello everyone,
Sounds like you are all having a great time! What I would really like to know is how many times did Mr Purves and Miss Stewart capsize?
P1 have been busy filling out their chart for “Walk to School Week” and are taking their responsibilities very seriously! They are all missing their Buddies in the playground and are even asking how many sleeps until you all come home!
Have a great day tomorrow, and remember not to make too much niose when you are having your midnight feasts - Mr Purves won’t give you a row, he’ll just pinch your chocolate!
    See you all soon,
    Miss Macaulay xxxx

Hi Miss Macaulay- actually I had dry feet in the kayak until 5 minutes before the end, when the group plotted against me and I was unceremoniously dumped in the loch! I suppose I deserved it though- everyone else was already soaked..

    Hi everyone.
Glad to see you’re loving the activities. Hope you’re being nicer to Mr Purves today - you don’t want heaps of homework when you get back! How are you getting on with the tidy room policy boys? Making beds must have been a novel experience!
