Eco Group
We are delighted to announce that after all the hard work of our Eco group, we have been awarded the Silver Eco Award. We are now aiming for our Green Flag which requires a considerable amount of work from everyone.
Windygoul Primary School has been built using a variety of eco-friendly materials. As you will see from the photos, the building is mainly wood, with a seedam grass roof and solar panels.
Our Eco group have recently organised a rota of helpers to perform litter and composting duties! Many children have volunteered to help out and the results should be tidy playgrounds all round the school. New ‘litter pickers’ have been purchased, along with small composting bins which will hopefully be filled on Mondays and Tuesdays when we have our ‘Fruit Only’ days.
Recently pupils from P3 to P7 were elected to our Eco Group.

What’s happened to the email version of the newsletters? Let’s save some trees by only printing off copies for the parents who don’t want an email copy. Our mum gets 2 printed copies sent home when she could get an email copy.

I think our school should sign up for generation green. This is about making our enviroment better. We can earn leaves if we keep our school green and the leaves can be swapped for rewards for the school. Miss Duke, can we sign up?

I think the eco group are really helping the school by the litter picking and lots of other things and it is cool that you called it the green group.
