Enterprise Event
The pupils from P7, along with Mrs McAvoy and parent helper, Mrs Flynn, went to the Brunton Hall on Wednesday 31st January 2008 for an enterprise event. There were 170 pupils there in total from all of the primary schools in the Musselburgh Cluster.
The children were divided into groups alongside pupils from the other schools and had to choose a company name for their group. They were then told the duties that were to be allocated to everybody in the group and between them they had to decide who would be the Managing Director, Financial Manager, Quality Control Officer, Production Team, Buyer and Seller.
Each group was then told that they had £25.00 to buy materials and they were to produce Valentines Day items for purchasing and which were to be of good quality so that their group could try to make the biggest profit at the end of the day.
The groups then set about making cards, gift tags, table decorations, gift boxes, bookmarks and heart shaped decorations.
The children all thoroughly enjoyed the event and as well as making some fantastic products, they also had the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends from other schools.
