India & Hinduism
P6/7’s class topic for the first part of this term has been India. They have learned many interesting facts and these are cleverly displayed on their notice board outside their classroom. Did you know that a baby is born every 1.2 seconds in India?
Working with this and also their environmental studies topic of Hinduism, they gave a fantastic assembly on Monday to the school and parents.
The class was split into different groups, and each group gave a presentation on a different Hindu celebration. These included Holi, Diwali and Raksha Bandhan. Each group made a display to show which celebration they were talking about, and these were great.
The children showed that they had been working hard on their talking skills as there was an obvious increased confidence in front of an audience.
Thank you to all parents who came to see the assembly and support their children, we hope that you enjoyed it!
Well done to all those who took part!
