Music Workshop
Primary 3/4 were very lucky recently to have a full days workshop with the music specialist, Dave Trouton. The children listened to various pieces of music and then told each other how the music made them feel. The children used the emotion words we had previously worked on during our circle time activities to help express themselves. After break Mr Trouton showed the children how sound travels using the piano, a rope and a slinky. Please ask your child to explain this to you.
We discussed how music is used and why we use it. The children understood that music helps create atmosphere and were delighted when Mr Trouton said they would be using their own musical creations to make a story more interesting. The children practised throughout the afternoon and then performed their creation for the upper school. Primary 3/4 would like to thank Mr Trouton for a wonderful experience.
