P3/4 have been working hard this week on story telling and story writing. Many of the children have produced their best writing ever and were extremely proud of themselves.

Visit to Primary 4 & 5 children by author Lari Don

A visit by author Lari Don to our Primary 4 & 5 children has been arranged by Scottish Book Trust for 6th June 2008. Lari is a storyteller who has just published her first book, First Aid for Fairies and Other Fabled Beasts.

World Maths Day - 5th March 2008
The pupils from P1 - P7 all took part in World Maths Day on 5th March 2008.
During the day the children took part in maths activities/challenges against children from all around the world. These included children from Austrailia, Malaysia, China and United Arab Emirates to name a few.

The Village of Whitecraig by P3/4
Whilst working on their project about the Village of Whitecraig, the children in P3/4 decided that people from outwith Whitecraig don’t really know anything about it. Mrs Gilbert informed the children that they were going to be given the opportunity to change this at a showcase event which was to be held at Musselburgh Grammar School.

P3/4 - Whitecraig Park Improvements
Earlier this year the pupils in P3/4 were asked by East Lothain Council Parks Department to complete a park survey on the play park in Whitecraig.
The children looked at the park and discussed in pairs what they would like to improve. They then completed the survey forms and returned them to the council.

World Maths Day - 5th March 2008
The children from Whitecraig Primary School will be taking part in World Maths Day on 5th March 2008.

Colourful Cats by P3/4
The children of P3/4 recently enjoyed a bright art lesson with Mrs Gilbert.
During the lesson, the children painted some wonderful colourful cats which are now brightening up the corridors and the children’s cloakroom bays.
They started by painting the outline of the cats and then decorated them by adding stripes, dots and circles using metallic paints.

P3/4 Fun Maths Afternoon
After the recent success of Primary 4/5 maths games afternoon, Primary 3/4 invited parents/carers to have another fun maths experience playing board games.
