New Playground Equipment for Whitecraig Primary School

At Whitecraig Primary School there is brand new playground equipment for the upper-playground and lower-playground. Some of the equipment is very useful because for example, The Giant Draughts set teaches us to learn while we play. The most fun equipment is Space Hoppers, Stilts, a Long Jump set and some new footballs.

School Football Team

Whitecraig Primary are a small school with a good football team. The team players are Jack, Bradly, Josh, Brandon, Kelland, Grace, Morgan, Connor, Kieran, Mark, Drew and Callum. They’re all really good but they haven’t had a match yet because they started two weeks ago so we only have practised twice and both sessions have been spoilt because of the rain so we are hoping for better weather now.

Primary 5 travel in John Muir’s footsteps.

On the 23rd of April P5 went on a trip to find out about John Muir. We went to Dunbar and we visited the John Muir Museum which is where he was born. We were split into groups and we had to go into different floors of the Museum and find out fascinating facts about John Muir’s life. Before we went for lunch we shared our facts and together produced a John Muir life cycle diagram.

After lunch we went on a costal walk with Richard, a ranger. Richard gave us cards and we had to find various objects and sights on the walk. John Muir would have played as a child on the beach, around the castle and on the volcanic rocks so we were following in his foot-steps.

Primary 5 enjoyed finding out lots of things about John Muir which we didn’t know. We learned about the enviroment John Muir lived in and the differences and similarities with our lives. To sum up, everybody though the trip was “Outstandingly good”! (Written by Primary 5)
