Homework
P6/7’s if you still need to hand your homework in for maths please put it in the homework box as soon as possible this is now overdue. You were asked to investigate the number of squares on a standard 2D chess board. We looked at a chessboard in class and many hands went up when asked how many squares there were on the board. “That’s easy - 64.” We then discovered that the problem was not quite as easy as it first appeared. “What about the square right round the edge?” somebody added.
We looked at some of the homework in our maths lesson. Well done, some very creative ideas. Some of you have already asked “What if….the chess board were 3D?” and are working away on this. If there are any children from the Grammar school out there who can give us a few hints, we look
forward to hearing from you.
