Goodbye everyone! February 29, 2008
Posted by dking in : Uncategorized , 1 comment so far Just a quick note to say a huge thankyou to my class for being so wonderful this year! I’m extremely sad to not be able to teach the class through to Summer term, but I am really looking forward to coming back in and see how you’re all getting on once I’ve had my baby. Keep up all your hard work! Thankyou for all your wonderful cards, presents and kind words. Hope you enjoy the twister and atlas!
Thankyou also to parents, for your help and support throughout the year. I really hope the blog continues to grow and be of value.

Badminton Festival February 27, 2008
Posted by West Barns P4/5 Student in : Uncategorized , 1 comment so farToday we went to a badminton festival at Dunbar Grammar. We got split into different groups. The groups were purple, red, green, blue and yellow. There was lots of stations. One was a circuit, hitting the shuttlecock over the net which was fun and a keepy-uppy. Timmy’s favourite thing was the keepy uppies. Hannahs favourite thing was hitting the shuttlecock over the net. The organiser awarded some prizes at the end, of some water bottles. Hannah from our class got one for being the fastest girl on on one of the circuits.

Good Manners week. 18th February 2008. February 18, 2008
Posted by jpeterson in : Uncategorized , add a commentThis week we are going to work on manners. If we work really hard we will get a certificate. In class we are going to have a class draw about who’s been well-mannered! Manners should always pass through the world.

What’s new… February 4, 2008
Posted by dking in : Uncategorized , add a commentP4/5 are continuing their work on emotional portraits, using digital images of themselves to develop their portrait drawing. The results are looking really good and I’m hoping to get some photos on the gallery page asap.
The children have been asked to bring in some junk materials for making models of castles. Any cardboard boxes, tubes, shoeboxes etc would be useful to bring in. We are also hoping to make a medieval style documentwith the ’seals’ we made from FIMO clay on our visit to Stirling Castle.
We are starting a new topic in Maths - Position and Movement. We started today with a fun game where the class had to make sense of co-ordinate readings they had been given. The game involved a lot of communication and problem solving.
Thanks
