Week 2 in Primary 3! August 29, 2008
Posted by sbetteridge in : Primary 3 , 3commentsPrimary 3 have made their targets for maths and writing. We are going to work hard to try and remember capital letters and full stops! Do you always remember? Every time we achieve a target we get a leg to add to our crab.
Miss Grieve came into Primary 3 this week to help us with our reading. We now have our reading books and are trying hard to sound out words.
Today during extra playtime, Miss Howie played parachute games with us.
We are looking forward to the weekend. Gemma is going swimming. Aaron is hoping to have a BBQ because it is his birthday on Tuesday. We hope the weather stays nice for you Aaron!Siobhan is celebrating her sister’s birthday. Brooke is going to bake cakes tonight! Yum! Yum!
We hope everybody has a nice weekend. We will write again next week.
Bye from Primary 3
Week 2 in P2 August 28, 2008
Posted by iburns in : Primary 2 , 6commentsHi everyone. First of all we’d like to say a very big thank you to everybody who took the time to send us a message. We check every day and it is so exciting to read your comments.
The second thing we want to do is to tell you all about a Whole School Challenge that we will be organising in October. We are asking everybody to start collecting spare loose change. Look behind the couch and in all your old pockets and purses. Bring it all in to school on Friday 10th October and we will lay out a money trail through the school. We will measure the trail to see how far we go. Money collected will be put into the school fund and used to help with the expense of trips and to buy extra resources. More information to follow later.
Now here is what we have been up to this week.
This week has been very busy. We have been learning to continue the story in Writer’s Craft, we have been working to learn numbers to 100 and we have made some fabby patterns just using straight lines.
We have set ourselves personal learning goals. We each decided on some part of our learning that we would like to get better at. Now we are checking every day to see how close we are to reaching our learning goal.
Every day we have a ‘Star of the Day’. We all sit down and chat about why that person is special and make a special certificate which goes up on the wall outside our room. This week our stars have been Holly, Josh, Marley and Jakke.
Check in next week to see what we have been doing and remember to start collecting loose change!!

We Love Primary 4 August 26, 2008
Posted by Scott Lavery in : Primary 4 , 6commentsPrimary 4 have been busy since coming back to school. On the first day back, we had to set out the class the way we wanted and make our own labels for our trays and pegs. It was fun because we got to choose this. We have learned lots about each other and we know everyone’s name (even Mr Lavery and Miss Swaney).
Our new topic is water and we will give you more information on this later in the term.
Yesterday, we decided on a set of class rules which we had to vote for. The rules were
-
Be kind to others
-
Do be helpful
-
Do things well
-
Follow instructions
Adam, Megan and Aaron helped write this page and wanted to share with you what is good about Primary 4.
We do work and it is fun - Megan
We got to choose where we sat and what the classroom looked like - Adam
It is the best class ever- Aaron
We will be sharing what is happening in our class every week.
