Musselburgh Grammar School Website Development.
On Friday we ran a follow up TeachMeet for the staff at Musselburgh Grammar School.
We decided to adopt a ‘drop-in’ style for this particular session. The afternoon was spent working with the staff supporting their projects and helping them to develop their ideas. One of the main things MGS are working on is their website. It is great to see it evolving. The site is hosted on our East Lothian EduBuzz WordPress platform. Each department has their own site that is linked into the parent site. A number of Primary schools have now chosen to use EduBuzz as their website host. However, dare I ask, is Musselburgh Grammar School the first Secondary school in Scotland to have a website composed entirely of ‘Blogs’?
‘Blogs’? -Just an exceptionally dynamic website really!
Excellent work MGS! ![]()

Back in 2004 when I started off the first mgsOnline, about 70% of the site was made of blogs and, at the time, it was the first secondary school to have gone down this road. That was a project supported by LTS. Don’t forget, though, that Sandaig has also been doing nearly completely weblog websites since 2004, too. It shows a certain tenacity of the technology to still be around three years on. One could also argue that’s a heck of a long time for people to work out why it’s so important for giving voice to students and staff.
