EduBuzz Open Meeting 03-12-07

Last night saw this month’s EduBuzz open meeting. As I mentioned on Sunday, these meetings are open to anyone who has a genuine interest in East Lothian’s EduBuzz online community. The meeting was chaired by Don Ledingham (Head of Education in East Lothian)
Here is a brief summary of my notes:
- EduBuzz Front Page- The front page of our platform that has been updated by David Gilmour.
- Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) - An East Lothian document to be drafted, providing additional guidance for use of the EduBuzz WordPress platform.
- Screencasts- More online support for users of the EduBuzz WordPress platform.
- Staff/Pupil/Parent Web-logs- Ways in which we can continue to monitor and guide our growing online community, ensuring effective and safe use of online personal space.
- Support- The vision of engaging children in the supporting mechanism.
- Glow- Using RSS.
- EduBuzz Awards- Awards for EduBuzz sites.
- EduBuzz Logo- Potentially to be held at the end of the session: A competition within the EduBuzz community- Pupils will be invited to design an eye catching logo that ‘sums-up’ the purpose and ethos of the community; I have been advised that anything that relates to a yellow beetle is out of the running! However, my five minute attempt can be seen above
*This post is a summary of my own notes and thoughts.
