Pastures New.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have successfully been appointed as an Education Support Officer (ICT) for East Lothian Council. This post is a secondment until June 2008. I am pleased to say that after a manic two weeks I will be in post as of tomorrow.
Although I will be returning to Knox Academy at the end of this secondment, I would just like to say a couple of words of thanks. Firstly to Knox Academy for allowing me to pursue my career in this field. Secondly to my Department for their very kind farewell, and finally to my fantastic Technicians who have given me the most valuable support over the last five years. Although I have temporarily left the Science Department at Knox I am hoping where possible, to help out after School with the Sixth Year’s pantomime (though I am not sure how much guidance they will require from me considering a recent appointment ;-)).
I am very much looking forward to working with the team at John Muir House, and to the challenges that my new role will bring. I hope to share as much as possible via this Web-log.

Hi Tess,
I hope you do manage to share what you are up to here. My real job (outside of secondment to LTS at the moment) is ESO for ICT also. I’ve said that if every other ESO for ICT in the country kept a site that I subscribed to, then I’d be better at my job, as I’d have the benefits of their experience. Collectively, we are more than the sum of our parts.
Good luck tomorrow!

Congratulations Tess - have fun. I bumped into Dave R in Borders yesterday - he seems to be enjoying his secondment so far

Best of luck, Tess. As we all know, East Lothian is a sleepy little place in terms of educational innovation, so here’s hoping that you buck their ideas up a bit!!

And if you want to have a wee visit here then you’d be most welcome
