Edinburgh Festival 2007

It is that time of year again where Edinburgh goes wild. Apparently the population triples over the three weeks of the Edinburgh Festival. In years gone passed I have always been one for sitting out in the Meadows watching the various happenings, or relaxing at the Pleasance waiting for the next batch of free preview tickets to be handed out. However due to the weather and the ticket prices I haven’t done so this year. Even during the preview week, small shows were around about six pounds each (the couple I did see weren’t really much to write home about). However, last night I went along to the Corn Exchange to watch the Legendary James in concert. At a whopping thirty pounds a ticket I was expecting it to be good. Of course, there was no disappointment to be had. The band played all of the famous numbers including Sit Down, She’s a Star and my favourite Say Something. Still as lively and vibrant as they were back in my school days.

As a by-the-by (I don’t really like using my webpage for pleas as such), my father and I are desperately seeking to buy tickets for the John Williams concert at the Queens Hall on the 31st of August. The concert sold out a month ago. If anyone has any ideas of where I could get my hands on a pair, please could you leave me a comment. Until then (other than the odd Prom on BBC4) I am going into festival hibernation. With the new term looming, all energies and efforts must be concentrated on getting back to work!
