London: The Sound Of Music

The Rogers and Hammerstein Musical ‘The Sound Of Music’, showing at The London Palladium, was our last stop on Wednesday evening. This was most certainly the highlight of the trip for me. Following the popular television show, ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?’ Connie Fisher stars in the main role of Maria.
As a child I can remember countless Christmas’ sitting in front of our log fire with the rest of my family watching the original movie that starred thee ever legendary Julie Andrews, not to mention playing such songs as;
Edelweiss‘Edelweiss’,
So Long Farewell‘So Long Farwell’
The Sound Of MusicThe Sound Of Music’
on my flute or piano with my father accompanying me on his guitar.
The music was outstanding, the actors were incredibly well cast and the stage scenery and coordination was just amazing.
Though this musical was not the pupils favourite (I think this was probably largely due to the age difference), I certainly could not find any points for criticism.
I would highly recommend it to any friends. Indeed, I am hoping to be able to take my Granny to the show during the summer holiday if she is well enough.
