EduBuzz: Planning The Conference

This afternoon I attended May’s EduBuzz meeting at John Muir House, chaired by Don Ledingham. As always there was a lot to discuss, though the development of EduBuzz in East Lothian was our main topic. This initiative has come on leaps and bounds within the last five months. This is largely due to the ongoing hard work of David Gilmour and Ewan McIntosh, not to mention the vast growing number of East Lothian’s Teacher, Class, Pupil and even Parent learning logs. Though we discussed and shared our views on EduBuzz, my main thoughts lie with our proposed EduBuzz conference. Ideally we would like to host such an event online, but we all agreed that to have maximum success it would be best to host the event in person. Though nothing has been set in concrete, so to say, we have proposed that we will hold the event during one Saturday sometime in Autumn of this year. The idea being that we will run lots of small workshops that will provide a basic outline and an exciting experience of EduBuzz. At present we are hoping to host the event for around one hundred people, though this will be dependent on accommodation and interest; the latter not being a concern.

Ollie Bray has done a bit of ground work so far, so keep an eye on his webpage for the latest update.
