This week there is lots of action happening in the ‘Phase 2’ trial of the Glow portal across Scotland and in East Lothian. Yesterday we held a video Conference where a number of East Lothian mentors were able to join us. New things we investigated included sharing an Excel Document with Robert Jones, where members of the group could contribute. You can find my most recent screen shots here

This evening we held an Open Meeting for East Lothian mentors which over half of our mentors were able to attend (others have been invited to attend on Thursday evening). Dave Rawson and I ran an informal session on the work that we have been doing during the ‘Phase 2’ trial. As Paul Smyth (RM)had been visiting the East Lothian Council Head Quarters (addressing a few technical issues) he was able to join us for the session. This was really useful as he was able to answer a number of queries that our mentors had.

So what else is happening in Glow this week?

The Glow team at LTScotland have arranged Video Conferencing and Chat meetings during the following times:

Wednesday (tomorrow): 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Thursday 3rd May:10.00am to 10.30am and again between 3.30pm to 4.30pm

Wednesday 25th April (Tomorrow) I will be using Glow with my Intermediate 1 Biology Class (more on that tomorrow)

Thursday 26th April 4-6pm Dave and I will run a second informal meeting for East Lothian mentors.

Following today’s session, I feel it might be worth while to offer some additional Glow Chat and Video Conferencing sessions (via remote access) for Glow Mentors. If you are in the unfortunate position where you cannot access the portal during the times allocated by the Glow team, I will be available on the portal in the ‘Glow and Glowing’ group on Sunday 29th April 6-7pm and Monday 30th April 6-7pm. Please feel free to drop into the group and experience the tools for yourself!

Thanks to all who attended our twilight session today and to Eleanor Carnell (Support Teacher for pupils with hearing difficulties in East Lothian) who is so keen, she is coming back on Thursday to Glow with us again!
