Getting Ready To ‘Glow’: Phase 2

Glow Original
Having now accessed the portal from both school and home, Dave and I are getting on well with catagorising and collating Usernames, Passwords, Glow Groups and member privileges. We have also made a start at implementing and assigning Glow tools, though this will really need to be completed when we are together in person (Skype and MSN are great, but we need time together). Time in school is limited with the run up to the Easter break.

However, I have now issued my Intermediate 1 Biologists with their Glow logon details. Though I was aware of concerns earlier today, tomorrow morning will see our first school usage of the ‘Phase 2’ portal. Pupils will upload their most recent work onto our Glow Group for discussion. As it is nearly six Months since the ‘Phase 1’ trial, I propose that we spend the first 30 Minutes of the lesson familiarising ourselves with the portal and then the second 30 Minutes working on our ongoing projects (using my recommended websites and my own uploaded documents). This should hopefully put us in a perfect position for the official trial of the ‘Phase 2’ portal.

I am also hoping to issue my Standard Grade Biology class with their usernames and passwords tomorrow. I won’t have a lot of time to experiment with this class, but I am hoping that they will be able to use the portal as a means of accessing revision documents and communicating with myself over the Easter break.

I will write an update tomorrow night.
