I Want Your Ideas!

As you may have noticed, I am currently collecting information on ‘Useful Websites’. I want to create a catalogue of sites that are/will be particularly relevant to Science Teachers and Learners across Scotland. Initially, I am looking for sites that relate to my field; Science and Biology. This week I have asked my pupils to give me the details of any sites that they use or browse. I thought I would extend this to the readers of my webpage.
Have you any suggestions of sites I could include?
You can leave your ideas on a comment, or if you prefer you can email me via the contact tab on the top right of my page. I would be most grateful if you could pass on my query on to any Science Teacher or Scientist colleagues you know.
I know the sites I read/like/use, but I am keen and curious to hear about any more. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel, but I would like to narrow it down.

Hi Tess,
Science teacher Nancy Clark has a fantastic set of links to classroom resources around the world, with a focus on biology and chemistry at http://www.nclark.net
You might also take a look at my site, where a new science story appears every couple of days, before it makes the newspapers or TV. For each story there are discussion ideas, DARTs resources (directed activities related to text), and links to relevant activities and lessons on the Web: http://www.realscience.org.uk

PS A science blogging anthology has just been published - though I haven’t read it and not sure why anybody would buy a hard copy. Links to all 50 blogs in the book are at http://scienceblogs.com/clock/2007/01/science_blogging_anthology_the.php

I like what you are doing and I think it would benefit a lot of persons like me who are trying to integrate technology into biology classes. I live in the Bahamas and would appreciate some technology tips and ideas for my class in the fall. I would like to hear from you.

Thank you Shayvon. Here in rainy Scotland, we are approaching the end of term. Everything is very manic, but I will be in contact with you during my summer holidays.
Kind regards,
Tess:)

I have an AMAZING web site for high school kids www.marysbridge.com). It has subjects with great, simple, and yet EXTREMELY detailed outlines in bio, physics, chem, spanish, psychology… and more…
Anyways take a look. It is American, and so geared for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate kids, but I guess that bio is bio, so it should REALLY help all of you too. Arizona swears by this site!
