Skiing Or Boarding?
Having read Robert’s blog, and commenting recently, I felt the need to write this post. I am an avid skier. Robert Jones is currently taking votes on; ‘what do you do when the snow comes?’
Robert is one of my colleagues in East Lothian.
We are currently engaging in an ‘informal’ battle of the skier/snowboarder superiority. I am hoping most of you will vote for skiing (top left-hand side of his site, then click ‘vote’).
Flo, the boarder, had to be resecued ‘off piste’ as you can see!
Ali, I know you will be influential on the outcome of this one!
In the mean time, enjoy this!
Happy time!

I think Flo’s board was just trying to take her off-piste, where the board’s superiority over a pair of skis is most apparent

And in addition, that depends on the length of your skis…… (maths? weight over cm2 blah, blah blah!!!!!

Length and width I guess - well yes, I’ll give you that. But you can’t really describe the folk riding on the big wide off-piste skis that are frankly more like two snowboards than two skis as “skiers” can you? They’re more like snowboarders that haven’t realised yet that they only need one!

Well Robert, I would have to agree on that one. I do like my ‘off piste’, but not unless my skis are fat (or should that be ‘phat’?)
Have you ever played ‘Snow-blade’ rugby? Fantastic game! Possibly not for Hillend though.
