Environment Forum Launch on 31 May May 13, 2008
Posted by Morag Haddow in : Events and activities , add a commentEast Lothian Council are hosting an Environment Forum event on Saturday 31 May in Musselburgh, which will be “an opportunity for communities and organisations to identify the environmental challenges that face East Lothian, shape our collective response”.
Guest speakers include Alan Blackie, Chief Executive of East Lothian Council, Eurig Scandrett from Queen Margaret University and Philip Revell from Sustaining Dunbar. Registration starts at 9.15am and will end with a buffet lunch at 1pm.
There will be a Market Place and two workshops looking at:
• The key environmental sustainability challenges facing East Lothian and how these affect local residents;
• An East Lothian Environment Forum: how should it be structured and what could a forum achieve.”

Climate Change Training in June May 13, 2008

Climate Change Condensed
Tuesday 10th June, 18:30-21:30
COIN has created a fantastic new 3-hour ‘all-you-need-to-know’ course which uses a carefully-concocted recipe of expert knowledge (we bring the experts to you on film), group discussion and pair work.
Speaker Training
Tuesday 1st July, 17:30-21:30
COIN’s intensive 4-hour training course gives participants the text, information, skills and confidence to prepare and deliver a persuasive half hour talk on climate change.
Tickets: £12 for individuals; £24 for charities and Local Authorities; £49 for business

These conferences are for everybody who wants to gain confidence about communicating climate change at work, in their organisations, in the local community, and among friends and family.

Food Group Meeting 13th May 7.30pm May 11, 2008

This is a chance for new members to get to know faces and get a flavour of what we have been doing up til now. We also need to look at a presentation format for the civic week. Look forward to seeing folk then.
