Powerpod Comes to Dunbar March 4, 2008

Posted by Morag Haddow in : Events and activities , trackback

The Powerpod trailer is an interactive and fun introduction to renewable energies and the climate change challenge. It is fitted with solar panels, thermal solar panels and a wind turbine, while inside there is lots of stuff about why renewable forms of energy are good for the planet etc. There are demonstrators to help people access the info and help with the activities for kids.

The Edinburgh powerpod is owned by the Woodcraft Folk. They bought it with lottery money and they take it on their camps so that they don’t have to entirely turn their backs on modern living. It will visit Dunbar Grammar School on Thursday (6th March) and then will be open to the public at the John Muir Birthplace all day on Friday (7th March) - come along and see it!
