Stenton Primary School

 Monday was a lovely sunny day for our trip out to pressennan woods. We started the walk at the yellow stone with the people from the woodland trust.We all had great fun following the map looking for the Glingbobs and Tootflits.We all had a kebab stick to collect leaves to feed the Glingbobs and Tootflits.

On our way round we came across their homes in the trees.We were very excited and some of us left our kebab sticks for them.Malcolm was telling us about him leaving Stenton and moving to Dunbar school.He will be sad to leave .Jonny says he will miss him.We are looking forward to banana day.

The Primary 1-3 class had a new teacher today. Her name is Mrs Chisolm.

Leoni liked playing the bear hunt game with the primary 1’s today (Wednesday). Tommy, John and Malcolm liked playing too. They wish they could have played for longer ! They really enjoyed watching the bear hunt dvd as well.

Tommy is looking forward to golden time tomorrow. He would like to make a pompom. John would like to make a pompom too. Leoni and Malcolm would like to do hama beads.

Tommy went to Enjoy-A-Ball yesterday where he played football and hockey.

John had great fun yesterday playing a dog and lion game at breaktime.

This week primary 2 have been making baskets with Mrs Dillin. Tommy really enjoyed reading this week, his book is called ‘The Water Fight’. Tommy, Malcolm and John had a fantastic time playing the fishing game, this helped us learn our alphabet!!. John had a great time in gym, we were learning how to move our space bubbles with Mrs Jones. We are really pleased that we can now say our numbers in Spanish. We have been learning Spanish as it is the language spoken in the Dominican Republic.

Today we had a special Rock and Roll guest in the classroom  . His name was Mr Wharton and he played the guitar . He played some rock and roll songs and the ” the three crows “.He was very funny and we really enjoyed listening to him .We are going to call him the singing headmaster . 

Since last week Malcolm has lost a tooth and Tommy has a very wobbly tooth .

This morning we had reading . We are reading the Baby-sitter and our next book is called the waterfight .

Today the Library van came . We all got a new book and we all enjoy going to the Library van .

We are all really excited about Golden time starting this week . Malcolm is looking forward to Hamma Beads and Knitting . Thomas is looking forward to Whiteboard games , computers and football . Leonie is excited about cooking , hamma beads and computers and John is looking forward to Knitting and sewing . 

Today we had gym . We played at space bubbles which was good fun .

P2 have been learning about right angles in their maths lessons. Here are some pictures of them finding right angles in the classroom.

First thing we did today was played games on the white board.  It was very exciting as we got our school photos taken this morning, first with our brothers and sisters and then on our own.  We all had to smile!  We did some maths games this morning which was fun!  We practiced our writing with Mrs Smith.  It was raining at lunch time so we couldn’t play outside but we got to watch a video of ‘Babe’ about a pig who thinks it is a sheep dog!

After lunch time we went to the hall for gym.  We did balancing with balls and balancing excercises.  We then came back from gym, got changed and came to do this blog!

Today we started our topic on Dominican Republic .
