I’m currently seconded to Learning and Teaching Scotland as part of the Assessment, Achievement and National Qualifications team. I’ve been teaching for 9 years, five of those as a Principal Teacher of Pupil Support. Started off at Eyemouth High School teaching Maths for two years, then on to New Zealand to Tamaki College teaching Maths for 15 months, an amazing experience, before returning to Eyemouth to take up a Pupil Support post.
I’ve been at Preston Lodge High School since April 2005 and completed the Scottish Qualification for Headship in June 2008.
I am married with two small boys, Ruaridh and Myles.
I play the djembe, a West African drum and am currently trying (!) to learn the guitar.

Hi buddy,
Some excellent material on the Learning and Teaching site. I too am currently learning to play the guitar. All I’ve managed to do is moan about hurting my fingers. By the way just remember that ‘you’re brilliant!’
