Helmets are compulsory for anyone under 14 skiing or snowboarding in Italy. Please make sure that you either order a helmet through Snowco or acquire one for yourself.

EHIC Cards

Every pupil coming on the ski trip needs an EHIC card - a European Health Insurance Card, which entitles the holder to state-provided medical treatment within the country they are visiting and the service provided will be the same as received by a person covered by the country’s ‘insured’ medical scheme.

Snowco orders need to be handed in (to Mrs Bloomfield) by Friday 7th November.
If you were not at the meeting, copies of Snowco brochures and order forms are available from school reception.

Final Cost of Trip

As I mentioned in my letter to you in August, Interski were warning us that they might need to ask for a £25 supplement.
The bad news is that they will indeed be asking for a supplement - the good news is that they have managed to keep it down to the £25 they originally mentioned.
This means that the cost per pupil is now £640+£25=£665 (with another £40 for snowboarders).
After deposits were paid, everyone had a balance of £565 to pay, so this balance has now risen to £590.
The final date for payments is Friday 31st October.

Meeting with Parents

There is a meeting on Wednesday 1st October for all parents and pupils in the school hall at 7pm.
We will be giving you some more details of the ski trip experience, and presenting options for clothing hire from SnowCo.

Great News

With all the deposits in, we have 103 pupils wanting to go on the ski trip. This is 3 more than we had planned for but I’ve been in touch with Interski and they have confirmed that we can have the extra beds, so all 103 pupils can come on the trip.
Over the next week I’ll be finalising the staffing for the trip, and will be issuing payment cards to pupils immediately after the Easter holidays. Each pupil will be allocated a link teacher, to whom they will be handing in all payments and forms.
I’m delighted that no one is going to be disappointed, and am looking forward already to an excellent week on the slopes next January.
