We have held our annual Dragon’s Den event. P4/5/6/7 pupils have worked in groups to decide upon a product to sell at the Christmas Craft Fair. They made a prototype, costings and resource list and then presented their ideas to the Dragons. There are some very imaginative and creative products this year and production has started! Of course, Nursery and P1/2/3 will also be making crafts to sell. As usual we will start with Carol Singing around the village at 6pm and then make our way down to the Hall for our Craft Fair at 7pm.

Today was our Day of Action! We had great fun laying our clay stepping stones with Alison, making a bog area and minbeast garden with Miss Houghton and Miss Brown. Nursery and a group of P1/2/3 children made bird feeders with Richard English, the Forest Ranger. Mrs Baillie and her group planted our tubs with winter plants. Mrs Ritchie and her group worked very hard tidying and sweeping the garden. P4/5/6/7 made amazing bird houses and a hedgehog house with Isla’s Dad and they are dotted around the garden and playground. As soon as we can we will put photos onto the site so you can see us in action!

Primary 1/2/3 and Nursery have been learning about fruits that grow in Africa as part of their topic work. Today we made an African fruit salad and read the story Handa’s Surprise. We tasted mango, passion fruit, pineapple, banana, oranges and avocado. It was yummy!
P1/2/3 have made an African House in our role play area. We have lots fun in there!

Just incase you haven’t seen P1/2/3 posters advertising the Harvest Festival, it is on Friday 10th October in Saltoun Parish Church. It starts at 9.15am and when it finishes we would like to invite you back to the school for tea and coffee.
This year we are donating money to the Seeds for Africa charity. Alongside the traditional collection basket, we are trying to fill fruit shapes with coins. If you intend donating money to this good cause please bring it in small coins to help us fill the fruit. Hope to see you there!
New Playground Equipment September 3, 2008
Posted by Primary 7 in : Nursery, P1/2/3, P4/5/6/7, Uncategorized , add a commentWith all the Tesco vouchers the parents and pupils helped us to collect, we got new playground equipment. Staff chose and ordered tennis rackets, ankle skips, scoopers, different types of balls, hoops, cones, a squeezy hygenic whistle and swinging loops. Everyone is enjoying using the new playground equipment.
Using some money previously raised by parents and pupils we bought outdoor drums which everyone is looking forward to using when they get placed in the playground.
