New Playground Equipment September 3, 2008
Posted by Primary 7 in : Nursery, P1/2/3, P4/5/6/7, Uncategorized , add a commentWith all the Tesco vouchers the parents and pupils helped us to collect, we got new playground equipment. Staff chose and ordered tennis rackets, ankle skips, scoopers, different types of balls, hoops, cones, a squeezy hygenic whistle and swinging loops. Everyone is enjoying using the new playground equipment.
Using some money previously raised by parents and pupils we bought outdoor drums which everyone is looking forward to using when they get placed in the playground.

Posted by Laura Leslie in : P1/2/3 , add a commentWe have been learning the sounds - s, a, t. Today with Mrs Leslie we made tophats for t.
We have brought in objects from home that start with the t sound. Look at our sound and writing table.
We have also been learning about the characters from our reading scheme and playing lots of games to become familiar with their names. Here is our reading wall.
Our School August 27, 2008
Posted by Laura Leslie in : P1/2/3, Uncategorized , 1 comment so farP1/2/3 topic is Our School. We made a list of questions of things we wanted to find out about our school. We grouped these into categories - the building and playground, people who work in the school, pupils, parents and school rules. Primary 2/3 have been working on finding the answers to the questions about the building and playground. We have discovered how old the school is, when the extension was built, what materials the building is made from and when the school playground was made. We have discovered other interesting facts along the way. Did you know there is a bath in the staff toilet? One of the previous school masters is buried in Saltoun Graveyard. We are going to look for his grave stone tomorrow. We have displayed our findings on a learning wall in our classroom. Here is a photo of it.
