Highest Common Factors
Published by Michael November 7th, 2006 in scribepostsToday we found out about highest Common Factors
Example:
The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12.
and the factors of 8 are 1, 2, 4, and 8 which means the common factors of 12 and 8 are 1, 2 and 4.
So the Highest Common Factor of 12 and 8 is 4.
because if you have a look at the common factors the biggest number is 4.
Can you find the highest common factor of:
24 and 30?
One thing I tell my students when they are doing a scribe post is that no matter how wonderful the message in the text is a picture tell a thousand words. Is there an image that would help explain your topic. If there isn’t a good picture you can find interesting sites to help your classmates learn the topic in more detail. Here is the first site I found on google
http://www.helpwithfractions.com/greatest-common-factor.html
The best sites are ones that have some inaction component.
Keep on scribing. I like the question you did at the bottom of your post. Keep it up!!

I like your question Michael. It is good to try and encourage others to interact through your blog. I hope you get a response from a pupil in another class or school.

Excellent advice from Mr Harbeck.
Michael’s computer is on the blink, so he wrote this scribe post at lunchtime in my room. We didn’t have much time, but Michael was really keen to do it. One thing we forgot in the rush was to appoint a scribe post for tomorrow. As Michael won’t be seeing this at home tonight, I’ll pick for him - Hana (mainly because I know that you have managed to access the site Hana!)
well done michael considering you did this at lunch time its good stuff but as mr harbeck said i feel it would have been easyer ti understand with a picture but good try !
