Our S4 Graphics class have been busy in the last couple of weeks modelling their mobile phones as part of their Thematic Presentation (a collection of drawings based around a single artefact) and have been making good progress. Here is a small sample of their work in progress. You can click on the thumbnails to see a larger version on flickr where you can leave comments. (nice ones please!)

These were the first attempts at using the ‘Studio’ part of Inventor so we’re still practising with the different lighting options.

Assemblies are an important feature of Inventor, the software that we use for our 3D modelling. They allow you to take individual parts that you have created and build them together to make something much bigger and more complicated.
This exercise introduces you to the basics and should give you the practice to understand how they can be used, and allow you to create some assemblies of your own.
All of the instructions and supporting images can be viewed by running the slideshow by clicking here, you should click on the “i” in the middle of the picture to get all the instructions. You may also want to use the pause button (bottom left) to work at your own speed.
All of the Inventor Parts you need are available here. The parts are also available from the server if you are in school.
Please add comments or notes to the photos if you found the steps difficult, got stuck, or think you could explain any bits better.
Good luck!
