The building work currently going on at school is progressing well. The P.E hall is ahead of schedule and is now due to be completed in November instead of December. You can see from the photographs that the hall is huge. The children will have so much space for games. The new extension houses Primary 6 and Mrs Scott(DHT).The classrooms are bright and airy.We are also very lucky to have new Interactive Whiteboards in these classrooms which are of great benefit to the children’s learning. The main office and entrance look fantastic and create a very welcoming atmosphere to school. The P7 classrooms have also been refurbished and look great. They also have Interactive Whiteboards.

P4’s Scottish Performance and Gallery June 24, 2008
Posted by Miss Russell in : Uncategorized , add a commentPrimary Four invited their parents along this afternoon to see their artwork in the Scottish art gallery. The parents were also treated to a wee Scottish show, full of singing, dancing and poetry. All of the acts were chosen and prepared by the pupils themselves and had to have a Scottish theme.
Afterwards, the parents were invited to view our gallery with a cup of tea and a biscuit. It was a great afternoon.
Our gallery was even visited by our local councillor, Peter MacKenzie, who was joined by photographers from the East Lothian Courier and the East Lothian News.

P4 Scottish Art Gallery June 24, 2008
Posted by Miss Russell in : Uncategorized , 5commentsThe school gallery has been transformed into a Scottish Art Gallery this week by the primary fours. We have been studying four Scottish artists as part of our Scotland topic this term and the work on display in our art gallery is our own response to these artists work. The artists we have been studying are JD Fergusson, Samuel Peploe, George Birrell and Francis Cadell.
We have invited our parents along to view our gallery this afternoon, and they will also be treated to some Scottish entertainment and refreshments.
We think the gallery looks fabulous, what do you think?

Posted by Miss Russell in : Uncategorized , add a commentThis term a group of Primary six pupils have been coming along to the Woosh Drama After School Club on Tuesdays. Myself and Shonagh Davidson, a Drama specialist, have enjoyed running the club with our 12 very enthusiastic members!
Here are some of the pupil’s comments:
Shonagh, our Drama teacher is very nice and she does Drama with Miss Russell. Some of the activities we do are games, drama, talking about things and circle times. (Taylor and Kira, P6)
Woosh drama is fun because we always play games and have one of the best teachers in the school who helps with the drama. I really like it and I hope it returns next year. (Ross Pitcairn, P6S)
Woosh is the best Drama Club. I love it and enjoy it. There’s lots of games and I love the teachers that do it. (Kira, P6S)
I absolutely luv Woosh, it’s the bomb! The games are the 2nd best, but the drama is the best bit! Miss Russell and Shonagh are the best teachers in the world!! (Nicole Wright, P6S)
Drama club is the best ever! We do tons of drama games like miming ones such as “What’s my job?” and group co-operation games like ” 1 to Whatever” I would love to stay and you should all come to drama, I wish!! ( Emma Walker P6)
Drama Club is the best club that I’ve ever been to. We learn new games and my favourite is the parachute game called Sharks (Lucy McLeish, P6G)
Drama is cool and I like the people that go to it (Paul Greig, P6S)
