Where in the world will our visitors be? January 10, 2008
Posted by Jacqui MacKinnon in : Web site , trackbackOur new web site will let us see where our visitors live.
Over in the right sidebar you’ll see a map of the world labelled “Visitor locations”. It’s provided by ClustrMaps, who keep track of where web site visitors are located.
Every time someone visits this site, a new red dot will appear on the map showing where they are. The more visitors there are from a given location, the bigger the red dots become. Over time, we expect this to give us a good idea of how many countries are reading about what we’re doing. Of course, we might need to get the maps out to find out which countries they are!
Which countries do you think will start to appear first?

I think one of the first countries to visit will be the USA ! I wonder if I will be right!!!!
Good luck with your new site everyone. It is very exciting when the dots starts to appear! It is my favourite thing to look at when we look at our blog! I’ll pop back soon and see what exciting things you have been up to. from Mrs Gardyne and everyone at the infant school.
I’m impressed someone as far away as New Zealand has been visiting our school site. Perhaps they’re originally from Prestonpans themselves and taking a trip down memory lane. It would be nice to know some more.
I’ve let my brother who lives in Australia know about the website so hopefully he will access it as he and his wife went to this school once upon a time too!
Nice to see that the primary school now has a blog. Really looking forward to reading all the exciting things you get upto in class!! I love visiting the infant school blog too,as it’s nice to know the children are really enthusiastic about their learning!! Good luck hope you get lots of visits. I’ll certainly be back to catch up with what you all get upto.
Well, well, well, I am Karin Menzie’s brother James. I now live in Adelaide Australia with my wife Senga (nee Wilson, who also went to PP). Senga’s sister Elizabeth also lives here and she also went to PP. I see from the map we have a Kiwi as well, so Oz isn’t the farthest away place that a PP former pupil lives.
Can’t say I remember much about PP, I attended from 1963 - 1970, although interestingly my son James, who attended in 1987, had the same primary 1 teacher as I did, and she looked the same (I forget her name, but I do remember she was a good teacher).
Well done for starting this blog. I am really looking forward to seeing all the exciting activities the children take on. I am looking forward to seeing some of the comments they make about what they learn.
cool blog
