Maths Set 1
Welcome to Maths Set 1’s webpage!
We are working towards Level E in Term 3 of Primary 7 and we’ve been making fantastic progress this year with everybody well on track so far!
Maths Challenges
This term we have begun to work on revising and passing our Maths Challenges in class. The Maths Challenges are a way of refreshing and strengthening our knowledge of our times table facts and whenever we pass a challenge, we get a certificate to celebrate our success. Here is a link to the Maths Challenge booklet which tells you all about the Challenges, the rules and how you can practice more effectively at home.

Homework - 3rd March 2008
Practise your 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables - On Friday you will resit Challenge 2, or move onto Challenge 3, so practice your multiplication or division of these tables - see the Maths Page for more details.
Over the next 2 weeks, make an A4 poster which shows information about circles. It must include and explain key vocabulary (diameter, radius, circumference), be colourful and explain how the radius, circumference and diameter of a circle relate to one another
Range of Shape
We have been working on 3D shape, looking at identifying a range of 3D shapes, indentifying their key features, working out their areas and volumes and making models and nets.
Here we are learning how to use displacement to find the volume of a 3D shape
Next we will be moving on to converting smaller units to larger units and vice versa, following on from our work on area, which involved cubic litres, centilitres and millliletres.
We are also about to start doing a Maths Tables Challenge in class, which means we all need to practise our table facts, multiplication, division and lots of other skills involving table knowledge.
On this page you will also find details of our homework and webpages with fun games you can visit for extra maths practice at home. If you know any more fab websites, leave a comment and we’ll add them to the page!
Homework 18/2/08
